Adam Riley
Adam Riley has grown up with a lifelong interest in wildlife, which evolved into a particular fascination with the mammals, birds, reptiles and amphibians of Africa and Madagascar. Coming from a farming background in the Pietermaritzburg area of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, he studied accountancy and is a qualified Chartered Accountant. For the last 10 years he has traveled extensively in Africa, Europe, Asia, Australasia and the Americas, leading trips to numerous countries ranging from South Africa to Egypt, Angola to Ethiopia, and Bhutan to Papua New Guinea. To top this off, Adam has also guided in the Neotropics for six months. Adam is now one of Africa's most experienced birders, having seen nearly 2000 species on the continent. Adam founded Rockjumper Birding Tours (Indri’s sister company) in 1998 and is the Managing Director of the company. Adam’s passion and interest in mammals led him to bring into being Indri “ultimate mammal voyages” which is run as a sister company to Rockjumper. |

David Shackelford
David is an avid naturalist as well as an accomplished wildlife photographer. A native Texan, his extensive experience leading natural history tours across the world has taken him through nearly a hundred countries spanning every continent. David’s fascination with ecology has led to a lifelong passion for studying animal behaviour while enjoying the many facets of international travel and culture. His excitement for the natural world and sharing it with others stands out on every tour. David has an advanced knowledge of the countries being guided, consistent and dependable handling of tour logistics backed by a business degree in International Management, and an expert understanding of wildlife ecology throughout the world. His hospitable nature combined with this expert knowledge makes him a great asset on tour. |

Frank Lambert
Frank’s passion for birds, mammals and neotropical butterflies has taken him all over the planet. Frank holds a PhD in Ecology and after spending at least ten years of his life inside the rainforest, developing his skills to find the most elusive of species, his knowledge of rainforest ecology and its birds and mammals is nothing short of excellent. He has published numerous papers on diverse subjects, including birds, arboreal mammals, forest tortoises and on the relationship between fruiting fig trees and their avian and mammalian dispersal agents. Whilst working for IUCN (the World Conservation Union) he devised, organised and supervised a number of studies on threatened wildlife in Asia. He has guided wildlife tours to the Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, Peru, Chile, Colombia, Brazil and Cuba. |

Fraser Gear
Fraser Gear was born and raised in Johannesburg. Upon completion of his education, he followed his passions and set out to explore Africa. This led on to a career in conservation work, beginning with habitat rehabilitation projects on private game reserves bordering the Kruger National Park. As his interest in wildlife blossomed, Fraser started guiding, and as a consequence, has spent many years in Africa and Asia's top wildlife sites. In the process, he honed his skills in ‘bushcraft’ and as a naturalist and is one of the few qualified game trackers in South Africa. Fraser is now guiding birding and mammal trips throughout Africa and Madagascar for both Indri and Rockjumper Birding Tours. Fraser's passion for wildlife is infectious and his field skills are complemented by an impressive knowledge of general wildlife and the African environment. |

James Wakelin
James Wakelin was raised in KwaZulu-Natal Midlands of South Africa, where he spent much of his youth outdoors. Here he began his career in conservation and developed a solid commitment to the natural environment. Holding no less than four tertiary qualifications in the natural sciences, James is employed as a nature conservation scientist for the provincial conservation agency. James is also undertaking his Doctoral research on the endangered Blue Swallow in both Uganda and South Africa. Being an accomplished wildlife photographer, James holds a prestigious African AGFA award and has published widely. In-between his studies, James worked as a ranger for 3 years at the world-famous Mala Mala Game Reserve, bordering the Kruger National Park. Here he gained invaluable experience with big game and an intimate knowledge of animal and bird behavior. James specializes in guiding birding and general wildlife tours throughout Southern and Eastern Africa and Madagascar and is one of Indri’s co-directors. James' wife, Alison, is Office Manager for Rockjumper Birding Tours, Indri’s sister company. |

Richard White
Richard White was born and educated in KwaZulu-Natal's largest city - Durban. After completing a degree in the field of Social Science and partaking of some globetrotting, he began a career in guiding. He has worked as a general nature guide in one of South Africa's most exclusive game lodges and at Sacha Lodge in the Amazon in Ecuador for a year. Based in the Indri office in South Africa where he passes much of his time involved in tour operations Richard has an intimate understanding of the workings of an ultimate mammal voyage. Having spent many years as a guide he has journeyed throughout much of Africa and Madagascar. He maintains an active interest in plants, especially trees, Cape wildflowers and other wildlife and has recently completed a Masters Degree in Environmental Management. His love of people and passion for wildlife has ensures that Richard consistently delivers what our guests expect from a great tour. He is one of the Directors of Indri and assists in the creation and logistics of the suit of wonderful tours that make up our unbeatable portfolio. |

Ross Goode
Ross Goode is a native of the South African highveld and has had a lifelong passion for all things natural. Before dedicating his career to guiding Ross’s capable intellect was challenged by studying microbiology and biochemistry after which he spent five years working as a Research and Development Flavor Biochemist. His time in the lab was complimented by studying a diploma in wildlife and conservation and it was then that Ross decided to abandon this highly skilled profession in favor of a career in guiding. He began his guiding endeavors at one of the most exclusive lodges in South Africa where he gained invaluable experience in sharing his knowledge of the natural world as well as his skills in tracking Africa’s big five. Ross is now renowned among his peers for his astounding knowledge of wildlife and his competencies in botany. His enviable experience in tracking dangerous game and handling groups on big game walking safaris has equipped Ross with excellent leadership abilities. His contagious enthusiasm, passion for all things natural and his personable character make Ross nothing short of an excellent leader.

Simon Bellingham
Simon Bellingham developed a passion for wildlife as a young child growing up in rural Zimbabwe. Although he has a Master’s Degree in Chiropractic, and has worked for a number of years in the field, his passion for nature could not keep him away from the outdoors. He has worked in luxury game lodges, most notably Richard Branson’s Ulusaba reserve in the Sabi Sands bordering to the Kruger National Park. He has guided many celebrities during his time, most notably Kofi Anan, Mary Robinson, Graca Michel, Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Jimmy Wales and Nigel Marven, and during his time at Ulusaba was always requested to guide Richard Branson and his family. It was during a visit to Ulusaba that Adam Riley realized Simon’s potential and invited him to help set up and direct Indri. His infectious enthusiasm combined with excellent field and people skills make traveling with him nothing but a delight. |
