Tour Leader Profile: Lawrence Weitz
Lawrence's in depth understanding of animal behaviour and his love of natural science, coupled with his personable character and fun-loving nature, ensures an unforgettable wildlife journey.
Lawrence discovered his passion for natural science at an early age, and was privileged to bird with the esteemed Dr Johnson at the impressionable age of 14. Lawrence qualified as an overland guide at 19yrs; after which he ventured into big game capture in the Limpopo Province and anti-poaching in Mpumalanga. His time in the bush was integral in allowing him to further hone his bush-skills and in fuelling his passion for a career in wildlife. Lawrence then went on to become a full time wildlife guide at Sabi Sabi Private Game Reserve in South Africa's Greater Kruger National Park, and continued his development as a guide by becoming CCAfrica (now andBeyond) qualified and working at some of their top game lodges in South Africa. Lawrence left CCAfrica to work at Richard Branson's Ulusaba Game Reserve, and thereafter pursued his Botswana Guides License through employment with Wilderness Safaris in the Okavango Delta. Lawrence now has over 13 years in the wildlife industry, and is fluent in German and Shangaan. He can be followed on his blog: http://lawrenceweitz.blogspot.com/
