We thought the whole trip was absolutely fabulous. It was well organized, ran smoothly as there are many factors to co-ordinate on a trip like that. The wildlife we saw was awesome, nature at its best… no signs of pollution. Thank you for coordinating this trip and giving us so much useful information before hand and your great organization. There always seemed to be a lively enthusiastic response from you to my emails, somehow it is not just a reply as many tour operators give… Well done!
It was a wonderful trip. You all did a wonderful job with it. I would have been very happy with one Jaguar but so many both anteaters many otters 23 mammals all together. That was superb. Also so many birds the herons were great plus all the others. Iguazu Falls were breath taking! The lodges were very good especially Caiman. It stands by itself. Markus was as always Markus. We liked Paula very much and was very helpful. It was a great trip!!
Thank you for a truly wonderful trip. What an amazing experience to see a giant panda in the wild and so close. It was for me, however, more than an adrenaline – pumping experience. It was a great priviledge, a priviledge to be in the realm of the panda and an even greater one to be given the opportunity of seeing one. I hope that both this experience and priviledge will reaffirm my commitment to helping the often struggling animals of this world.
Simon Bellingham was the perfect guide for us – apart from being most competent in all tour related matters, he also managed very well to get even Fiamma interested and fascinated. He also improvised very well when needed – such as when he gained access to our hotel even when all routes were officially closed due to a sporting event. Simon had been highly recommended to us by our friend from Brazil, and he exceeded all our expectations – well done Simon, and thank you very much!
The trip was amazing – a truly wonderful experience! I couldn’t have asked for a better trip.
Lawrence Weitz was a fantastic guide. His love of Botswana and the mammals was quite evident; that and his respect for the well being of the animals was truly heartening. He went out of his way to share his extensive knowledge of the mammals, birds, plants, geology, astronomy and anything else you could imagine, and really demonstrated that he wanted to provide a complete “experience”. He, as well as the excellent local guide all made this trip far exceed my expectations.
The trip was amazing – a truly wonderful experience! I couldn’t have asked for a better trip.
I want to say that Simon was great, fun and worked his tail off to get us some great photo ops. Please pass on our regards and appreciation.
It is always a pleasure to work with Shelly. We thoroughly enjoyed our guide! Very skilled at locating both mammals and birds. Outstanding personality and fun! Exceptional and diverse wildlife viewing experiences! Our group had the most spectacular and memorable experiences of the trip occurring during this time (full and prolonged view of a jaguar drinking from the river at dusk, and a mating pair in full view on an adjacent beachfront).
Overall we were very fortunate, but could have just as easily gone home without a panda sighting, but I knew that going into the tour. Simon was determined to get everyone onto a panda. I enjoyed Simon’s company and hope to have him guide me in Brazil in 2012.
It was a great tour and we are still amazed at the wonderful wildlife we saw. We not only saw beautiful tigers, but many other animals and birds as well. Both guides identified both mammals and birds, and found lots of them. The forest was beautiful – a great place to spend time. The guides were great, and the lodges terrific.
Let me just say that the trip amply fulfilled our expectations. Gavin was an outstanding trip leader, as were the local guides/drivers. Gavin was an excellent guide, and we really appreciated his knowledge and insights into the animals and their behaviour as well as his birding skills. The local guides were excellent, too, especially Steven in Tanzania – he was outstanding, really knowledgeable and enthusiastic. Altogether an excellent trip, and a good group of participants.
Tim was unbelievable and did an amazing job keeping everything running smoothly while still managing to point out things for all the different interests of us in the car: birds, mammals, history, geology, and archaeology, just to name a few. Still don’t know how he saw some of the animals sometimes, they were so hidden! Tim was amazing; so informative, friendly and not afraid to poke fun along with us, and the itinerary was perfect.
This tour was the best trip I’ve ever taken; the pace, the itinerary, the location, the guides and the birds/animals were all unbelievably top notch. I’ll recommend (and already have) INDRI to anyone who wants to travel, whether they be (hobbyist) birders like myself, mammal fans or just someone looking for an amazing travel experience. Thank you so much to everyone at INDRI for what was truly an incredible adventure for me, my sister and my parents. I can’t wait for my next trip with you! Our INDRI trip goes down as one of the absolute best trips we’ve taken. Tim was amazing; so informative, friendly and not afraid to poke fun along with us, and the itinerary was perfect. We wanted to thank you in particular for that. Starting in Kruger was a great way to get introduced to the scenery and animals, but ending with Ngala was just stunning. Those four days are my favorite travel experience ever. Hands down. No contest. I would live there if I could. We don’t know how you find your recommended lodges, but Ngala is a certified winner. Having the extra 4th night added on was icing on an already perfect cake. We’ll be returning the feedback form shortly, but I’ve already been raving INDRI to others. At least two people at Ngala took down your name from me. I do hope they end up booking with you in the future. I can guarantee they won’t be disappointed. We’ve been back only a few days and I’m already dreaming up where INDRI can take me next. Spitsbergen, the Antarctic, South America, Alaska… So many options and so little time off!
The INDRI office was very helpful and prompt, and did a great job of arranging our trip.
Ngala indeed lived up to its description. We had excellent wildlife sightings, with particularly impressive sightings (twice!) of Wild Dog that far exceeded expectations.
Four Rosmead in Cape Town is beautiful, and we would highly recommend it for clients wanting a quiet, small, high quality B&B.
James Kydd made all the difference in our visit to the Cape Town area. We appreciated his low-key approach and expertise, not only in regard to the flora and fauna, but also cultural information—including where to eat. He really went far above and beyond our expectations.
As you may well be aware of the beauty of the Ngorongoro Crater, picture the scene… It’s about 8am, it had been raining all night, but had stopped about 15 minutes earlier, we had entered the crater, dropped through the clouds, past the rain forest crater edge, everything is glistening after the rain, all clean and fresh, then as the trees cleared and the crater base comes into view, we the round the corner and are surrounded by yellow flowers, the sun breaks through a cloud, the Zebra crossed the red dirt road, it looks back at us, as the rainbow is formed straight over its head…………I got about 5 pictures off. Awesome, you couldn’t dream it up……
We had an awesome time and it was everything you said it would be and more!! We saw all that we were hoping to and then some. I’m already thinking when we can go back for more!!
Lawrence Weitz is an excellent guide. He worked very hard to get us the best wildlife and photo experiences.
You have a great company, keep up the good work. Your guides are some of the best in the business.
I would (and will!) highly recommend this tour, my expectations were well exceeded. I think the value for money of the tour was excellent. I really appreciated all the effort Gavin put in to ensure that we all had a good time on this tour. It was obvious that he is well trained (hospitality as well as birds and wildlife) and takes the role and responsibility of being a guide seriously. His sense of humour added to the experience. The drivers in both Kenya and Tanzania were great as well! Friendly, professional, and patient with great skill at spotting wildlife.
We had a brilliant experience in Madagascar! What a privilege to see the magnificent bio diversity of this place. Given the country’s infrastructure and distance between reserves, the itinerary alterations made a tremendous positive difference. We had excellent and prolonged views of 20 lemur species, and saw a large number of birds, chameleons, geckos, and frogs. Just fantastic! Markus is an excellent guide, but we expected nothing less!
We were very excited to see the lemurs in particular, and despite having had some incredible wildlife viewing experiences prior to this tour, our expectations were exceeded!
I must say everything was just wonderful and far better than I imagined. Madagascar is an amazing place and our INDRI guide Lawrence’s knowledge of flora and fauna and the history of the Country is endless. I have travelled the world for 15 years and never had a guide so enthusiastic, full of knowledge and helpful. Madagascar exceeded my expectations of species sightings and photography opportunities. Amazing trip and I look forward to heading back to Madagascar some time soon.
This was the best trip I have ever taken. Everything exceeded my expectations. I was worried about logistics and our guide made it go incredibly smoothly. He took care of everything and made it seem effortless. He was the best guide I have ever had for many different reasons. Not only does he display incredible enthusiasm and knowledge of the area, but he also managed to learn about us and what interests us, and even what makes us comfortable on the trip. He also … told us lots about plants, insects, etc. as well as cultural aspects. I particularly enjoyed how excited he would get when we saw certain animals. He clearly enjoys his work… He even helped me practice my Malagasy! After a few days, he seemed like a friend along for the ride and not just our guide.
Our Indri guide was very personable, intelligent and helpful with an excellent knowledge of mammal behavior and photography technicalities.
THANKS to the INDRI staff for all your work and expertise planning and developing the tour – look forward to working with you in the future.
A great trip with great guides and a great camp crew. Looking forward to my next adventure with INDRI.
Just returned home this afternoon after our trip to Brazil. It was a great trip in every way – all details worked well and both leaders were outstanding. More later, but we did see and photograph Jaguar, Giant Otter, Giant Anteater, Southern Tamandua, Giant Snipe, Crowned Eagle, Spotted Bamboowren, Slaty Bristlefront, Sharpbill, Long- trained Nightjar, Black-throated Piping-Guan, Pavonine Cuckoo, and many more, plus saw Maned Wolf, Tapir, all the ‘big five’ antshrikes, etc. About 450 birds, 23 mammals… we liked the fact that both Marcelo and Edson adapted the planned program to better fit our needs, when requested.
Robin and I wanted to let you know we really enjoyed our custom Brazil trip and want to thank the INDRI team for selecting an outstanding destination and putting together an extraordinary itinerary. Of course the gem of the trip was the Caiman Ecological Reserve. Everything was beyond words. The accommodations, the food, the setting were all fabulous. In addition to our bird wish list, highest on our list was to see Jaguar and the Giant Anteater. That’s what we told INDRI we wanted to see and just wanted to let you know that you delivered beyond expectation. Not only did we see Jaguar, we saw a Jaguar with 3 cubs. Not only did we see Giant Anteater, we saw Giant Anteater with a pup on her back! Adam Bannister of the Projecto Oncafari took very good care of us. We’ll treasure the memories and images of our journey. Thank you.
We will soon be departing the fantastic Pantanal. It has been a wonderful INDRI adventure. The sighting of the female Jaguar at a kill with her 3 cubs was an unbelievable experience. We watched in awe for over three hours. Last night we also had a brief sighting of the same female with two of her cubs. And we’re looking forward to our next INDRI tour to the Valdes Peninsula in April.
I’ve been to Africa seven times now and have travelled the continent over. This was without a doubt the best trip I’ve had. The gorilla sightings were beyond expectation and the time we spent was perfection. Every detail was expertly planned and perfectly choreographed. Thank you for such amazing planning. Thank you again for such exceptional work. Simon was a gracious host, a knowledgeable guide and a fantastic steward.
Extremely satisfied and “WOW” best describes our marvellous African adventure. Fraser made the trip a wonderful experience. His in-depth knowledge and insights into all aspects of mammals, birds, history, geology, bioversity, etc made each day an exciting, memorable event. When we next return, we would definitely want Fraser as our guide. After the first day, we became a little concerned regarding the arduous travel schedule and number of one night stays; however, Fraser’s persona made it all work. Looking back, the itinerary (even though there were some long drive days) was perfect for a first experience of Africa. Our driver/guide, Geitan, provided a superb bonus feature. In addition to being a gifted driver, he was knowledgeable, alert, personable and a perfect match with Fraser. I can imagine extreme difficulties associated with six people together in a land cruiser for 15 days, but in this case it all worked well. Accommodations and meals were well above what we expected. The Serena lodges were excellent, but we enjoyed the extra space provided in the Sopa lodges. The setting and newness of the Samburu Simba made it the best even with the lack of ventilation in the bathroom. This was a great first experience with the INDRI organization.
What a wonderful journey we had all together! Thanks to James’ excellent guiding and knowledge about each animal we learnt a lot of interesting behaviour of animals. To top: we had the best driver of Kenya. His personality together with his “eagle eyes” and his orientation in Nakuru NP and Massai Mara was outstanding. Together with James it was the optimum you can get. I was of course sure that you had done the best for us.
We were so lucky to see exciting interactions in wildlife. Caracals, Serval, a Cheetah on our Jeep, a lion mother with two very little babies, the crossing over the Mara River, Leopards…. and the flamingos!!!!
We are thankful and happy for this time in Kenya. Everything was organized very well. And to know that James was again with us as a reliable friend was wonderful.
Thank you a big lot for all you have done for us
I just want you to know that we had really unforgettable days in Africa. We met the nicest people ever and the trip…I have no words to describe it. James is a wonderful guide and a wonderful person as well. So Cape Town became much more interesting and beautiful. Ngala and all the people there are outstanding. There are no words to describe it. We will never forget that experience. Thank you for everything.
I´m in Argentina again, but with incredible memories of my travel to Botswana. Thank you very much for your assistance and comprehension during the early stages of this process, you have done a really good job planning my tour. All camps were amazing, plane schedules were great, and the overall experience was awesome!!!! By sure I will contact you again next time I have the possibility to make a new safari or another excellent experience as this last one.
Thank you very, very much!! Everything was absolutely wonderful!!!! We loved every minute of our trip and these memories will last forever!!!
Just wanted to thank you both for all the flawless arrangements … on the safari portion of our trip to South Africa. The flights were perfect, as were the camps. We had a fabulous time at Dulini and Ngala Tented Camp and would highly recommend both. Of course it would have been virtually impossible not to have a fabulous time since both camps had wild dog dens, with pups which were 8 weeks old (Dulini) and 4 weeks old (Ngala)!
Just to thank you again for such a wonderful tour. We all enjoyed it so much and Markus is a grand guide. He knows so much about everything. Of course I was so happy to see the Meerkats and they were so close to us… We saw so many birds and the animals were just fantastic and so close could just about touch them. The lodgings were all great and we really enjoyed the boat. It was a great way to end the trip. All went very smoothly even the flying. It was amazing that you could do all that and (have it) all turn out so well.
First of all, we had the best time EVER. The TOP of the trip was Ulusaba, the lodge is amazing, their staff was always prepared to help us regarding everything and the safari was excellent. Also, the room at the lodge and the food/wine was very very good. We had a perfect time there and were very happy that we could stay one more day. We enjoyed very much all of our days in Cape Town, its a very pretty city with many things to do and with very good food/wine! And regarding Indri services, everything was excellent.. Again, we had the perfect honeymoon, incredible days that we will never forget.
The accommodations were fantastic! The people were very friendly and we were treated like royalty. It was a truly memorable trip for all 5 of us. Thank you!
David and I had the BEST holiday we have ever had. Partly due to your organisation and planning, and partly due to our guide.
This was the most amazing and memorable holiday we have ever had. We have travelled to a number of countries and in a number of styles, but this was the best holiday and experience we have had. I know this will remain with us for the rest of our lives and we would like to thank you and your team for arranging all the finer details which combined to make this a smooth and enjoyable trip.
Once again, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU.
You should be very proud of your company and it’s achievements
We had a great holiday – most enjoyable! Cape Town was really fantastic and James made it that much better.
No words can adequately express how thoroughly impressed Leslie and I were about the portion of our Africa safari that was planned by Indri. You did a fantastic job right from the beginning in putting together the best possible package to meet our desires while staying within our budget. I would be remiss if I didn’t especially thank you for all the idyllic lodges that you booked us in. Leslie and I will be showing our photos to various groups of people over the next several months and we will most definitely promote Indri at every opportunity. Once again thank you so very much for making our dreams come true
This was a trip of a lifetime, made all the more special through the people and services that INDRI provided. Although tent-living is not a plus for many, I can say that I felt more in tune with the beauty and majesty of Africa. I still miss the unique sounds of the night – I’d do it again – exactly the same way if possible!
The trip was spectacular with many sightings and much camera work. It was truly a great time in Tanzania
I am still on a high from all the fabulous sightings we had. Outstanding trip!
Markus did a great, great job. He was very willing to share his knowledge in all areas – mammals, birds, and photography – and he was very knowledgeable. He was very upbeat and a pleasure to be around. All 3 of us were very pleased with Markus
As President of the Rotary Club Germering I want to thank you for your organisation, your staff, everything was absolutely excellent, we will never forget the days accompanied by your company.
Cape Town is a great spot to start, finish or center a trip around. James Kydd did a wonderful job of taking care of Debbie and I. We will no doubt spend some more time around Cape Town in the future and rely on Indri to make the arrangements.
It was a wonderful cruise. The accommodations were very nice. The food and coffee bar were top drawer. One of the several highlights of the trip was the polar bear (we named it the BBC Polar Bear) and his encounter with a large group of walrus. In the end after an hour standoff in which the bear completely encircled the walrus, he gave up and left. Thanks so much in making the arrangements for us on this cruise. It couldn’t have been any better!!
