Beginning our Indian safari adventure in the bustling capital of Delhi, we first make our way to Ranthambore in search of the magnificent Bengal Tiger, certainly one of the greatest wildlife experiences on earth. This regal cat, the largest of all felines, may sadly be the first of the big cats that we condemn to extinction, and the opportunity to encounter this majestic beast is undoubtedly the apex of India's wildlife highlights. We will also use the occasion to stop and enjoy the magical romance of the Taj Mahal, a spectacular architectural monument - not merely a building, but Love incarnate!
The next section of our tour will take us into the deserts and dry woodlands of Western India, where we will seek out the last remnants of a mighty and majestic predator that in prehistoric times hunted the abundant herds of Europe and Asia. Sasan Gir Wildlife Sanctuary is the last earthly refuge of the Asiatic Lion, and is home to the only surviving population of wild Lions outside Africa. Other sought-after mammals we will search for here include Four-Horned Antelope and Striped Hyena and we have good chances for Leopard.
Our final leg takes us to Velavadar for the beautifully patterned Blackbuck, while our Kaziranga Rhino Extension takes us on a wonderful adventure to view the highly endangered Indian Rhinoceros (while riding on elephant back!), massive wild Water Buffalo and troops of Indian Elephant.
